SCHENECTADY – Police say a backpack found in the lobby of the Jay Street Post Office Tuesday morning posed no threat to the public.
An employee found the backpack in the lobby around 10:15 next to a copy of the Muslim Quran.
Authorities say the name of the man the bag belongs to is similar to one on the terror watch list.
The building was evacuated for a time and streets were closed in the area.
In the end it turned out the backpack only contained dirty clothes, toothpaste, foot powder and cologne.
